Meet The Folks Behind The Focused Lens
Ten years ago, The Focused Lens wasn’t created to become the biggest studio or photograph the most people—it was created with a simple hope: that people would feel truly seen.
A decade later, thousands of portraits, hundreds of stories, and countless milestones have proven that the most meaningful photographs aren’t simply taken; they are created together to preserve the people, moments, and stories that matter most.
As the next decade begins, technology, trends, and styles may change, but the commitment to listen, serve, create beautiful artwork, and see the person before the portrait will never change.
And our promise to you will never changel.
We Promise To See You

Hi! I'm Daphne Blount, owner and photographer of The Focused Lens Portraits.
I picked up my first camera at 16 years old, back when photography meant film, darkrooms, and waiting to see if you actually got the shot. I studied photography throughout high school and college, even winning a few awards along the way. Somewhere in those years, photography became more than something I enjoyed—it became a part of who I am.
Then life happened.
I got married, raised two daughters, and eventually found myself wondering what the next chapter would look like. When my youngest was getting ready to leave home, my husband surprised me with a digital camera.
I was skeptical about this whole “digital photography” thing.
That camera changed everything.
For the last 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of turning something I loved as a teenager into a career I truly love. And I’ve never stopped learning. Every year, I invest more than 80 hours in continuing education, studying with some of the best photographers and master artists in the world—not just to learn how to create beautiful images, but how to see light, connect with people, and most importantly, see the person in front of my camera.
Because there is always more to someone than what you see on the surface.
That’s what I bring to every session. I want to know your story.
I want to see the relationships, the personality, the season of life, and all the little things that make you you.
And then I want to turn what we create into something you can actually live with—not just another collection of images sitting on your phone.
Your story deserves a place in your home.
On your walls. In an album. On your desk. Somewhere you can see it, feel it, and remember it for years to come.
I’m Daphne Blount, and I’m a portrait artist.
And it is truly my honor to tell Your Story ’Til Now.
